K.I.S.S. #2 – Keep it Simple Sundays

Here’s another Simple card to put together.

This card uses small scraps of coordinating designer series papers to put together a stunning look. I made 2 cards of this design.

To begin, take your flat white pieces, 5-1/4″ x 4″, and the 5-1/4″ x 1″ DSP and 5-1/4″ x 1/2″ gold strips. Adhere the gold and DSP along the right edge for interest. Stamp your inside sentiment centered in the remaining area. Adhere inside the card base.

Next, take five 1″ x 4″ strips. At varying locations on each strip, use the 1″ circle punch to cut a circle out of the strip. Be very careful to align the edges of the circle with the edges of the strip.

Adhere the left side of each strip to the embossed white cardstock, 5-1/4″ x 4″, evenly spaced with the different length strips arranged in a way you find visually pleasing. Place the circles on dimensionals to pop them up and place them aligned with their base strip. Discard the right sides of the strips.

Wrap 7″ of ribbon around the left side of your embossed white white piece, over the 5 DSP strips. Cut out your front sentiment and accent it with a bit of gold to match the foiled DSP. Pop up the sentiment and place it over the ribbon. Attach your embossed white piece to the card base. Then it’s time for embellishments however you like them.

I also tried a version with only 4 DSP strips for a more open look.

  1. This a wonderful design. I love the idea of using scraps for this. The paper you used is beautiful. I really love the gold, it adds a sophistication to the card.

    Great job!
